In 1897, Mark Twain, 61, was quoted by the New York Journal as saying from London that "the report of my death was an exaggeration."
Dear heavens, though, the reports were accurate. The Twain doppelganger frequents tourist trap steamboats to this day, feeding on those who grow comfortable with what they think is a novelty impersonator.
